Great, flexible food tour in a vibrant lesser-known area of Osaka

Had a great time trying out some local specialties! We enjoyed all the food, and the experience of making Japanese Osaka-style pancakes was a delight. Our guide Russ was entertaining and extremely amenable to changing the itinerary, preemptively selecting highlights of both food and activities to give us the best Shinsekai has to offer.

Matcha Calligraphy

The experience was so much fun! This was our first attempt at writing anything in Japanese and we had a blast learning to create our own calligraphy art that we brought home to display. Shoran was very patient with us and an excellent teacher. This is a one-of-a-kind experience that she has spent many years perfecting. You can tell she’s passionate about it. She provided an extra gift since it was our honeymoon, which we are so thankful for!

Osaka Evening Food Tour

We had a fantastic Osaka evening food tour with Sae and Camila. It was so fun hearing their insights, and insider knowledge about the area. We experienced the yummiest local food - places we wouldn't have known about if it wasn't for their tour. Our kids (ages 14 & 12) particularly enjoyed it. We will definitely book another food tour when we return to Japan.

Sake Tour in Hiroshima

We had a great walking food tour in Hiroshima with our Sake Sommelier, Masa. The experience was truly local, and Masa was so knowledgeable, friendly, and kind. Great fun. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Everything I was looking for in a tour

My friend and I wanted to see everything Shinjuku had to offer, and we were really excited to get a first look at the yokocho with a tour group. We were a little disappointed when we were the only ones attending this tour, but that quickly turned into laughter and fun when we met our tour guide Adele. She was funny, charming, and extremely knowledgeable about the area having lived in Japan for 10 years. I wish I had a few more days to walk and chat with her about her experience, her perspectives on Japanese life and culture as someone originally from the west were fascinating. She took us to some places that I ended up revisiting later in my trip just to get another taste. Ultimately, the entire experience felt like catching up with an old friend. As someone who is a little shy at first, hanging out with Adele was some of the best quality socializing I had during my entire stay in Japan...I think I'll come visit Japan again, and I'll definitely book another!
