Osaka in November is a city painted in autumn’s richest colors. The heat of summer is long gone, and the cool air brings a new rhythm to life here: slower, cozier, and perfect for exploring. It is a month when the streets glow with golden ginkgo leaves, temples host lively festivals, and seasonal foods like roasted sweet potatoes, chestnuts, and crab fill the markets. On top of the natural beauty, Osaka’s November calendar is packed with cultural events, from centuries-old traditions to modern spectacles like fashion runways and candlelight concerts. Whether you are here for food, festivals, or simply to soak in the seasonal charm, November offers some of the best experiences the city has to give.

November is peak season for autumn leaves in Osaka, and you will find two must-visit spots to enjoy them. Osaka Castle Park is at its most stunning this time of year, with brilliant red and golden leaves framing the historic castle. The walking paths are especially photogenic in the morning sunlight, and weekend cultural performances sometimes pop up around the grounds. It is the perfect mix of history, culture, and natural beauty in one place.
If you are craving more nature, head just outside the city to Minoo Park. The highlight here is the 33-meter waterfall surrounded by glowing maples and ginkgo trees. The trail to the waterfall is gentle and lined with food stalls, including the famous maple leaf tempura, a crispy and lightly sweet snack unique to the park. Together, these two spots showcase the very best of Osaka’s autumn scenery.

It is known as the “pharmaceutical festival” because it honors the god of medicine, making it especially popular with people from the medical and pharmaceutical industries. Stalls sell tiger-shaped amulets believed to protect against illness, and the streets around the shrine come alive with food, games, and music.
