Can you explain to us what Pink. ASAKUSA is and what the main focus is?

Pink. ASAKUSA is a Japanese experience cafe focusing on the concept of everything pink. We strive to embody the heart of Japan, offering a variety of Japanese culture and new entertainment, as well as healthy Japanese food and drinks that can be enjoyed casually.

We provide Japanese cultural experiences such as calligraphy and Japanese craft-making, provide Japanese traditional food like “yaki onigiri,” and sell Japanese-style smoothies. In the evening, we host performances and live music by DJs who are active in Japan, and we also have a selection of Japanese sake and whisky.

What prompted the creation of Pink. ASAKUSA and how has it grown?

Japan has a wide variety of tourism resources, but compared to food and shopping, there are few cultural experience-based tourism services. These services often struggle to fully meet the needs of visitors who are seeking authentic Japanese experiences. That’s why we launched Pink. ASAKUSA. Currently, we are developing and implementing various activities to showcase the captivating allure of the new “wa” (和, Japanese culture).

Your website mentions “pink” as the main concept of your services. What inspired you to choose this color?

Cherry Blossoms, the representative flower of Japan, are known overseas under the name of “SAKURA.” It is entrusted with beauty as a symbol of the country of Japan and the dignity of the Japanese people. “SAKURA,” with its pink color, represents feelings such as affection, kindness, warmth, and approachability, satisfying basic human desires for connection and acceptance.

With the aim of providing a place for people from around the world to visit and connect joyfully through the concept of “wa” (和, Japanese harmony), we have chosen the color of Japan’s heart, Sakura Pink, as our concept color.

What experiences do you offer, and what is the most popular? You also organize events every week, including DJ sets and more. How can people check the program out to see what’s coming soon?

If you could recommend one item from the cafe, what would it be?

For the café, I recommend the pink-colored grilled rice balls and Japanese-style smoothies!

In your opinion, what sets Pink. ASAKUSA apart from other companies that offer cultural experiences?

One of our distinctive features and points of differentiation is that we offer a service where you can easily experience a new form of “wa” (和, Japanese) entertainment that combines the craftsmanship and traditions of Japan with the freshness and innovation of modern times.

Does Pink. ASAKUSA have plans to expand the types of experiences available in the future?

Yes, we will continue to develop and expand new content on a regular basis in the future.

What is your favourite part about working at Pink. ASAKUSA?

As a foreign staff member, the best part of working here is the opportunity to learn about Japanese history and traditions in order to explain the experience to customers. Furthermore, when customers tell me that they have learned something new and come to love Japanese culture more through our cultural experiences, that is the best time for me, too.
